This Privacy Policy explains how Otes Media LLC collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use Fade of Eden.
What we collect
- Account: username and password. Passwords are securely hashed before storage and are never stored in plaintext.
- Study progress: gameplay data like XP, streaks, exam history, and badges is stored only on your device (localStorage), not on our servers. Your account and Boss Battle credit balance are stored server-side in Supabase.
- Payment: card details are processed by Stripe. We store only whether you have purchased credits — never card numbers, expiry, or CVV.
- Technical information: our hosting provider may automatically collect information such as IP address, browser type, and server requests to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
How we use it
- Authenticate your account and track your Boss Battle credits.
- Process payments and fulfill your purchase via Stripe.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
- We do not send your personal information or study activity to AI services for processing.

Data retention
We keep account information while your account is active. Transaction records may be retained as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Study progress stored in your browser stays on your device until you or your browser clears it — we can't recover locally stored progress if it's lost.
Your rights
You can request to delete your account, access the personal information we hold about it, or correct inaccurate account information, at any time by contacting us at hello@otesmedia.com. We may ask for information to verify your identity first.
Children’s privacy
Fade of Eden is intended for people preparing for barber licensing exams and isn’t directed at children under 13. If we learn we've collected personal information from a child under 13 in violation of applicable law, we'll take reasonable steps to delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above.
